Purchased this March 31st 2018, started using it May 9, 2018 – added a drop to my son’s bottle every AM. I noticed about 8 weeks after using that there were black spots forming inside the lid and where the drops come out, which appears to be mold. This was stored at room temperature and directions as listed were followed and it’s listed that it does not expire until 2/2021. Very disappointed in this product, as I was hopeful to have the same experience as those that gave this product 5 stars.

Ordered Ddrops and Upspring drops since they appeared to be basically the same (fractionated coconut oil is the only ingredient besides vitamin D) and Upspring was less expensive. I’ll be buying the Ddrops from now one for the dispenser alone. Both really were flavorless (I tasted), neither caused any gastric disturbance for my baby, but Ddrops was far easier to dispense (and let’s face it, none are easy – picture coordinating a squirming, hungry baby and drop rolling – you’ve got about 10 seconds). I expected Ddrops to have a dropper because of other reviews, but you just turn the bottle upside down and wait for the drop. Upspring was similar, but it’s hard to get a full drop and it didn’t drip well from the bottle. Ddrops is much better.

The single-drop dispenser was easy to use if directions were followed, and the bottle was tipped back up immediately so as to not dispense additional drops. Everything was packaged nicely. Our issue is that this product caused horrible gas pains for our baby. We tried multiple times, months apart, to ensure that this product was the culprit. Each time, our son was fussy all throughout the day, then at night he woke repeatedly and cried inconsolably. It was awful. We spoke to his pediatrician who said that the higher concentrations can be more likely to cause gastric upset.

We were recommended this product to use for our baby, but we found it very difficult to use the applicator! We were never sure if a drop had come out… or several. Eventually we stopped using it because we were worried about over or under dosing her.

I bought this because it was recommended on my hospital discharge papers. I didnt think D drops would be necessary but since I had my baby in the fall/winter time and I never take her outside much to receive any sunlight to make her bones stronger, I thought I should give it to my baby. Doesn’t do any harm I dont think, and my 1mo old seems to be so strong especially with holding her head up for long periods of times and kicking her legs. It is easy to dispense one drop (each day) which is recommended.

My son’s pedi said that we needed to supplement with vitamin D drops since breast milk does not provide enough for baby’s needs. She gave us a sample that required 1ml be given once daily – THESE are so much better!! I like that the drop comes out one at a time and that’s all you need to meet baby’s needs. Some reviewers stated that the drops were difficult to see or that too much comes out at once.. I found the drops easy to see and if the bottle is tipped upright immediately upon it’s dispensing a single drop, there is no issue with the amount that is dispensed. These drops have no flavor (I tried it!) and can be placed on the nipple when breastfeeding, a pacifier, or in baby’s food or bottle. I’ve also dropped into straight into baby’s mouth when he was lying on his back so – lots of options!
