*** For thick snot, we highly recommend using a NoseFrida Saline Snot Spray to soften stubborn boogies. After apply snot spray, please wait for 30 seconds to one minute, and then suck away with our Electric Nasal Aspirator.

Very straightforward. It works the moment the tip of the suction cone “contacts” a snot. It has three suction levels, all of which are adequate for contact-suction. It is not going to be able to clean out your child’s nose in the event that the tip of the cone cannot contact a booger. I figure to have that degree of suction going up their nose might terrify them so perhaps this is a necessary limitation. The tip disassembles easily to clean snots out from the self-contained chamber designed to house them. The only downside here is the outside of the tip is rather smooth so it can be a bit difficult to twist the ends apart in order to access the chamber, especially if your hands are wet. Anything that increases grip makes it easy – a rubber band suffices. It has two auxiliary functions – a LED that lights up the chamber with various colors, and another button that makes some music. This didn’t please our toddler much, but it might be good for a younger child.

This aspirator works really well. However, you will need to use saline to loosen thick mucus. My baby hates me using it but as soon as I turn on the light and music on it, she gets distracted and allows me to clean out her nose. It’s pretty disgusting cleaning it out so be sure to have napkins to remove the snot before washing itUPDATE:I contacted the company because a silicone ring ripped when i took it off to wash. I contacted the company and they sent me a new aspirator in addition to replacement tips

I seriously wish I had gotten this sooner. My 6 month old was hospitalized for RSV this winter and after watching them use the high-powered suction aspirator in the hospital, I knew my regular methods wouldn’t cut it at home. I ordered this before he was even discharged and was able to use it right away when we got home. It’s amazing. I use the lights and the highest suction and I get SO MUCH SNOT out of my little guy. He’s used to me using this now and he doesn’t even get fussy anymore. Probably because he knows he will breathe better once I’m done. He just started up another head cold and I’m using this a couple times a day. Still works great! Suggestion: use with saline to help loosen up the gunk. I like to use it like a net-pot and suction from one nostril while dripping saline into the other. Magic! I recommend this to everyone with little ones.
