Super disappointed. Had the old version I suppose, no little viewing window, but set up so that the left side of the cutting surfaces are open and the right side closed, making it simple for right handed use as you can see as you slide the clippers onto the nail. This new design has a little opening to see through supposedly, but the open side of the clippers is on the RIGHT side, meaning the side facing my hand as I hold them, meaning I cannot see what I’m doing and end up having to hold the upside down, which results in them not clipping the nails short enough, and making the viewing window useless since its now on the back side, but it’s the best solution I’ve found.I’m really dissapointed as the old design was spectacular. They are held like a clipper but function like a scissor, so it’s not bending and flattening out the nail bed like a clipper does and it gentler on little fingers. Also easy to get a nice smooth cut, but This new design has made them borderline useless.Seems this is designed for lefties, which is great, but label it as such. For using right handed they are dangerous since you cannot see if you’ve actually got the nail and avoided skin!

I had such high expectations for this product. It seems like the perfect solution for cutting newborn nails. However, it was really tricky to use.The blades are angled so it begins cutting on one side and ends cutting on the other like scissors. This actually was less helpful than you you’d think. It was hard to get the clippers underneath nails, especially nails that are curled under like on the toes.I ended up returning it. Just didn’t work for us.

I have two toddlers and a newborn so on Saturdays I usually end up cutting 30 tiny fingernails and 30 toenails. With regular clippers I accidentally clipped the skin a few times. It is much easier to avoid clipping the skin and to see the nail with these. They are shaped like clippers but the actual blade cuts like a scissor. There is a little window in the clipper so you can see the part of the nail you are cutting.I have used them on myself when I was in a pinch as well- they will cut adult fingernails but not as easily because they are sized for kids. I have two sets actually because I wanted to make sure I had a backup if they got lost.

Works as well as I think any clippers on Earth could on trimming nails of pygmy hedgehogs. I know they are designed for human babies, but hedgehog toenails must be clipped frequently to prevent injury to their tiny toes. Let me tell you, this can be quite an ordeal since you must work stealthily in tight quarters on the tiny nails of a wiggly pet who does not enjoy the procedure. And did I mention the ability to tuck feet into a ball of quills? Hedgie owners, do yourself a favor and buy these clippers – they come in a two-pack so you can keep them handy for when she dangles a foot and you can clip a nail or two on the fly.

I initially bought the safety nail clippers with the light. However the bulkiness of those clippers ( I understand it’s for safety) made it harder for me to clip her nails. I even nicked her a few times with those :(These ones I love, very easy to use, although I clip her nails while she is sleeping. She moves too much when she is awake. I liked the dual pack, keep one in the nursery and one in the diaper bag. The two pack Makes it convenient for when we travel.. I won’t forget it.I docked one star from my review because they aren’t very sharp. When my baby was a newborn it wasn’t a big deal, because her nails were very soft. Now at almost 4 months old, since they aren’t sharp enough, I have to file them after I cut her nails. Adds an extra step unfortunately.Overall, I would buy these again

These are our favorite nail clippers ever! We got a pair when our first daughter was born 13 yrs ago. We’ve bought a few more since; they get lost easily. My husband loves these clippers for his own nails and refuses to use any other.I like the grip on the end. I get joint pains easily and this doesn’t bother me as much as the traditional type of clippers.I thoroughly recommend these for new parents as well as for adults to use for themselves!
